There
had been increasing efforts over the past few years by national and
local organizations such as the Irish Cultural Center, Welsh League of
Arizona and area Caledonian and Celtic societies to involve the various
ancient nations of the British Isles and Ireland in cooperative
endeavors. The Trans Celtic Gala was something of a milestone in
this area. Attendees (all 1400 of them!) were treated to Irish
step dancing, Scottish pipe and drums, Welsh and American song
(ancient, modern, thoughtful and hilarious), in a non-stop succession
that kept everyone wondering what would come next.
